                Networking is important because it can get you benefits not offered to everyone. It can get you the "hook up." This may be a job or a discount or something else beneficial. I am networking by making friends with people who are or know someone with the connection. I know I am doing this right because I can get discounts and job opportunities by just knowing someone who works in the company.
